“She encouraged me to pick choices I loved, not just the safe and traditional options.”

I hired Celeste to redesign our kitchen, dining room, living room, and back entrance. The main goal was function — I have three kids and needed to maximize my space. Celeste guided everything from layout and paint to furniture, kitchen selections, and styling. She listened to my preferences and offered options that fit my style. She encouraged me to pick choices I loved, not just the safe and traditional options. I often don’t finish reno projects, but I’m happy this one is wrapped up and beautiful. Highly recommended!

“What I thought would be an overwhelming renovation, she made easy — and the space turned out better than my expectations.”

I love home decorating but struggle to make decisions or bring a vision to life. Celeste helped with a complete basement renovation — from studs to styling — and worked within my small budget. She made communication with my contractor so much easier, and what I assumed would be overwhelming was made easy. My basement is now the nicest part of my house. Now to hire her for the rest of the home!

Form & Function Design was a pleasure to work with. Celeste gave our business reception a complete facelift and we absolutely love the new look — our customers can’t stop complimenting it. Highly recommend for personal or professional design needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if my home doesn’t need a complete renovation? Can you work with existing fixtures and design features?

This is what we love about renovations! It’s a challenge to incorporate new and old. In the interest of sustainability, we don’t try to replace anything that we don’t have to replace and we’re here for the conversations about what needs to go AND what must stay!

01 / 05

I need help with furniture - are you only going to find me the most expensive pieces from hoity-toity retailers?

Let’s be honest - we rarely specify a piece from any retailers. We find you the best furniture from sources who only sell to designers. This means that we have access to many of the same manufacturers as the retailers but sometimes in different colours, fabrics, or finishes as they carry. We can’t compete with big box store prices but we can get you high-quality, Canadian-made furniture for a reasonable price (think Crate and Barrel pricing, not Leon’s).

02 / 05

Would you design just one room? I have a bathroom that needs to be renovated - is that project too small?

Of course! We’re happy to design your one-room project - we know that while it might be just part of your home, it’s still so important to get it right.

My contractor told me to go to pick out the finishes for my renovation and now I’m completely overwhelmed. Can you start tomorrow?

Maybe! Send me a message and I’ll see what I can do! Real talk: I likely can’t start tomorrow. Typically, depending on the scale of your project, it can take months to plan everything, right down to tile placement and exactly where each light fixture will be, so the best time to start working together is several months before you want the work to start, so we can avoid the stress and overwhelm right from the beginning.

04 / 05

Other than picking the “pretty things”, what do you do?

We make technical drawings, including elevations to show cabinetry layouts and where everything is going to be, as well as electrical plans, flooring and window schedules, full floor plans, among other technical drawings and specifications sheets. This means that once design has been approved, we can hand all of those details over to your contractor so that you won’t be getting a phone call from them every two minutes throughout construction! Yay!

What You Can Expect

Form + Function Design follows a collaborative and comprehensive 9-step process, designed to make interior design feel manageable and enjoyable.

1

Discovery Call

We’ll have a quick phone call about your project to get to know each other a little and see if we could be a good fit for your vision.

2

Design Consultation

This in-person session is where we dive into your project in more detail. We’ll talk ideas, preferences, must-haves, budget, timeline, and more. This helps us fully understand the scope of your project and how we can best support you throughout design and construction, as well as after construction.

3

The Proposal

A few days after the Design Consultation, you’ll receive a detailed Proposal for Design Services. It outlines the scope of work, design fees, timeline, and what the process will look like moving forward. We’re always happy to walk through it together and answer any questions.

4

Design Concepts

Once the proposal has been signed and returned, and the first payment has been received, the fun part begins! We’ll get to work building your Design Concepts, which will be presented to you to kick off the design phase of your project.

5

Design Presentation

This is the part we live for — putting all the puzzle pieces together. Based on the approved concepts, we develop detailed drawings, cabinetry layouts, and material and fixture selections. Depending on the scope, this phase typically takes between two and six weeks.

6

Refinements

This stage is all about adjustments and fine-tuning. We make any refinements based on your feedback and prepare everything for handoff. Two rounds of refinements are included. Once approved, the design is finalized and ready to move forward with your home builder.

7

Post-Design Support

Depending on your project, you may need ongoing support during construction. This can include site visits, calls, and collaboration with your builder or contractor. We love working as part of the team and assess the level of support needed during the proposal phase.

8

Wrap up & Feedback

We love getting feedback throughout the process, but the end of a project always gives us all the feels.

This is where we arrange photography or any post-construction follow-up.

9

Welcome Home!

This is the moment it all comes together. Once your space is complete, we take time to ensure every detail feels intentional, finished, and truly yours. It’s not just the end of a project — it’s the beginning of living well in a home designed for real life.
